The Jackson is a five-storey, 74,639 square foot total precast condominium featuring a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. The building includes over 1,000 precast elements such as wall panels, beams, columns, hollowcore slabs, balcony slabs, stairs, and landings. Wall panels reached up to 35 feet long and 10.5 feet tall, with thicknesses ranging from 6″ to 17″, and weighing as much as 40,000 lbs. The exterior panels were cast with form liners in steel molds to create a variety of finishes, including brick, wood, and fluted textures. Uniquely, all balconies are cantilevered from interior slabs, giving a floating appearance. Windows were pre-installed in the precast panels at the plant, and doors were added on-site during erection, allowing for faster enclosure of the structure. Located along a main thoroughfare, The Jackson stands out as a modern architectural landmark in this growing community.
